چکیده

The influence of increased train loads on the dynamic amplification for bridge action effects are investigated using simple models such as two-mass oscillators. The results show, the bridge dynamic amplification factor decreases when carriage weights are increased. This procedure facilitates more accurate calculation of fatigue stresses.

Structural analysis of the deck of access bridges in offshore docks under dynamic loading of moving heavy vehicles (Case study: 10 feet concrete deck with prefabricated beam, under the passage of 125-ton bogie)

Ports are the most important economic, political and military bottlenecks. This puts shoreline structures (port) in the class of important structures and they have a crucial role in the countries’ life. Pile and deck wharf and their access bridges and offshore deck (jetties), are one of the parts which are supplier of coupling between the land and the waterfront. Correct and exact estimation of...

Dynamic Analysis of Hyperestatic Structures under High Speed Train Loads

The construction of new high speed railway infrastructure in many European countries is actually a great civil engineering effort. One of the main design issues is related to the fact that trains at speeds above 220 km/h may induce resonance effects in structures as bridges, subway frames, etc. In consequence, the design of such structures requires dynamic calculations. Several methods are avai...

Effects of track characteristics on dynamic responses of train-bridge systems

High speed trains are an indispensable part of rapid transportation systems in many countries. As the fastest means of transport on the ground, these trains are extremely sensitive to the terrain and track conditions. Geometrical irregularities and mechanical characteristics of the track, together with inconsistencies in the lane (including bridges that support the track) are considered importa...

Modification of Displacement Coefficient Method in Estimation of Target Displacement for Regular Concrete Bridges Based on ASCE 41-06 Standard

Displacement Coefficient Method (DCM) stipulated in the ASCE 41-06 standard is becoming the preferred method for seismic rehabilitation of buildings in many high-seismic-hazard countries. Applications of the method for non-building constructions such as bridges are beyond the scope of this standard. Thus its application to this kind of structure should be approached with care. Target displaceme...

The Effect of Compressive Strength Reduction of Column Section Expose due to Freezing-Thawing Cycles on the Seismic Performance of Bridges

One of the serious damages of tremendous earthquakes is the damage to bridges as the major components in an    arterial road network, as relief operation is interrupted following cutting roads. Regardless of the magnitude and severity of an earthquake, other factors are also important in the strength and seismic performance of concrete bridges. Freezing-thawing cycles are among the factors, whi...
